Homer joins RHIO
The US government is pushing for all hospitals to become part of RHIOs and Homer Memorial Hospital is ahead of the curve. A Regional Health Information Organization allows for the sharing of  medical information between hospitals, medical societies and major employers, making our hospital more efficient and your life easier.

Mr. Doug Efferson poses with Dr. Thomas Deas, one of the original founders of Homer Memorial Hospital, at the Open House held May 4, 2008 celebrating the newly constructed Emergency Room and renovated Visiting Physician area.  Also attending were two other founding physicians, Dr. James Gladney and Dr. Pat Gladney.  The event was well attended with over 425 people touring the new construction, receiving information on hospital services and being treated to refreshments catered by Rebecca McDaniel.

During the tour, Mr. Vance Robinson and Mr. Larry Coker demonstrated the new electronic medical record and digital x-ray systems recently purchased with funds received through a grant from the State of Louisiana.  Homer Memorial Hospital was one of seven rural hospitals to receive funds from the $13 million grant.  Mr. Doyle E. Robinson, Governor Bobby Jindal's representative, attended the event along with local dignitaries.
